The start of this body of work was developed while living in rural Co Galway. Here I used a jigsaw and router to create wooden relief paintings, these developed in to large scale paper maché and works with audio and video hidden inside the structures. I first exhibited these wooden relief paintings in a bar as part of the ‘Project 06’ in Galway in 2006. From that group exhibition Martin Crosbie from the Galway Town Hall Theatre Gallery gave me a solo exhibition in 2007. The curators from the Norman Villa Gallery in Galway saw this exhibition and invited me to exhibit in their group exhibitions and then giving me a solo exhibition in their gallery in 2008.
After the Norman Villa exhibition this body of work gathered momentum and scale and I exhibited at:
Ballina Arts Centre, Co Mayo 2009Â “Volute” – I had applied for this space when it was the old Ballina Arts Centre over looking the river. I was accepted, and then the arts centre were doing renovations so my exhibition was moved to a space 4 times the gallery size I had applied for and with no eternal windows! Working for this exhibition taught me not to be scared of scale.
South Tipperary Arts Centre 2009 “Swirlpool”Â
The Courthouse Arts Centre, Ennistymon , Co Clare 2009Â “Escapade”
Kilkenny Arts Office 2010.”The Three Sisters” This exhibition was part of my arts residency with Kilkenny Arts Office. The Three Sisters is a name give to the three local rivers, The Nore, The Barrow and The Suir, which I swam and recorded, this was the nucleus for the installation.
The Linenhall, Castlebar, Co Mayo 2010Â “Cascade”
The Garter Lane Arts Centre, Waterford 2011. “Kings River to Guillamene”  This was the final exhibition in this series. Here I created an installation based around The Guillamenes swimming spot in Co Waterford.Â
I am still working on this page so dates and titles will follow.
